Another 4-6 inches of new snow since yesterday. Still blizzard conditions, and even lower temperatures between 10 - 19 degrees, the county has been transformed into a white winter.
We are able to keep improving trails for cross country skiing and snowshoeing. 4Km of trails are open at Breckenridge Nordic everyday from 9am - 4pm. More to open in the next day or two. We are grooming all day and into the evenings to capture all the snow that is blowing around out there. Call: 970-453-6855 for info on groomed skiing, instruction, ski and snowshoe tours and more.
Also very good ungroomed snow in our White River National - Forest Service permit area on Peaks 6 & 7 and up to the destination huts. We will be able to start grooming up there soon.
We are still trying to open Frisco Nordic with a training loop and RJ's Vista. There are low snow areas where the wind has blown hard from across Lake Dillon and other areas where we need to hand work the snow drifts to even things out a bit.
Frisco is open Monday 10 am - 12 noon for ski swap sales and item pick-ups and the hours will become more regular as we get open soon.
We are open from 9am - 4pm today Monday, Dec 1st for ski swap sales. We began snow making this week and have been grooming all the new snow daily and into the evenings. The sledding hill is closed until more snow arrives, we hope it will open by the weekend. In addition, Frisco Nordic will be offering ski and snowshoe tours this winter by reservation. Ask about our "Ski with a Ranger" program weekly.
The Instructor Rendezvous PSIA clinic has been officially moved to the Breckenridge Nordic Center 1200 Ski Hill Road for Tuesday, Dec. 2 & Wednesday, Dec. 3rd, 2008 8:30 am - 4:30 pm each day. We are taking day of teaching clinic registrations at $35.00 per person.
