Good Spring Conditions for cross country skiing at the Breckenridge Nordic Center 9am -4pm daily through April 18th,

and the Frisco Nordic Center 10am - 1pm daily through Saturday April 10th.Temps 30 degrees at non daily.

Trails are groomed daily with skate lanes and set track for classic skiing.

New snow will enable us to provide quality grooming through the 18th at Breck Nordic the In-Town Nordic Center at 1200 Ski Hill Road in Breckenridge. Full services are offered.

New snow last night until 9am this morning, 2 inches powder on Breckenridge Nordic Center trail system, and only 2 1/2 inches at the Frisco Nordic Center.

Spring snow conditions with 30 degrees at 10 am. Trails are groomed daily with skate lanes and set track for classic skiing. Frisco will be open 10am - 1pm through April 6th, but not likely later, Breckenridge will be open until April 10th, 2010, but new snow will enable us to extend that date up until the 18th. Winter like conditions with 20 degrees at 9 am. Trails are groomed daily with skate lanes and set track for classic skiing. Frisco will be open through April 3rd or longer based on snow conditions, Breckenridge will be open until April 18th, 2010.

It was pounding snow last night and it left us with at least another 3 inches to shovel and groom out at both locations.

In Breckenridge at the In-Town Nordic Center at 1200 Ski Hill Road we opened The Beaver Meadows (all but a short 1/2 Km by Josee's Cabin), The Colorado leading up to the Breckenridge Ski Resort, and Gluteous Max and Gluteous Min (BC trail access) up to Peak s 6 & 7,
All trails are open now and are groomed daily for the best possible product and conditions...just for you!

Snowshoe trails are mapped and well marked, single track Nature Scenic trails protected by wooded forest in most places at Frisco Nordic & Breckenridge Nordic Centers.

All Skier Services are still in full swing with Lessons, Ski Tours and Snowshoe Tours by Advanced Reservations by Day and Twilight.

Gene and Therese met 25 Years ago today at the International Ski For Light - 10th Anniversary held at the Frisco Nordic Center in Frisco, CO. The program still goes strong today with Colorado Regionals that were held at the Breckenridge Nordic Center on Sunday, February 7, 2010. We offer guide training to assist blind skiers on the cross country ski trails and host many programs for the varying ability levels of Nordic and in cooperation with the Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center in Breckenridge, that Gene Dayton founded in the early 70's.

Frisco Gold Rush celebrated its 40th Anniversary with festivities, events, fireworks, bonfire, treasure hunt for kid's, and ski and snowshoe events over Feb 6 & 7th. More than 550 people came out for the events to commemorate a fantastic history of skiing in Frisco. The Frisco Gold Rush is still the oldest citizen's event in Colorado and one of the largest as well.

We are gearing up for the 40th Anniversary Frisco Gold Rush events beginning tonight with a Bonfire at the Frisco Marina at Dusk and Fireworks at 7:30 pm, and with 6 events for Nordic and Snowshoeing and a kid's Treasure Hunt at 11:30 am at the Frisco Nordic Center on Sunday, Feb 7th.

We are open at both locations with great snow conditions (new snow this week and still trying today) for groomed cross country skiing and snowshoeing. Lessons, Clinics, Wax Shop, Retail, Ski & Snowshoe Tours, self-guided mapped and marked trails, destination huts, private, public and White River National Forest permitted trails.

We offer full services and love to teach people how to cross country ski and snowshoe on scenic Nature Trails. We groom daily with a variety of equipment and two new Piston Bully 100 snowcats to provide the best double set tracks and skate lanes possible with changing conditions.

See our multi-day punch pass rates for trail passes, rentals, performance equipment and lessons for the best discounted rates. Passes are good for one full year, are valid at three areas, and are fully transferable so anyone in your group may use them. Multiple punches per day are permitted.

Season Passes are discounted at the Early Bird rates for the remainder of the 09-10 ski season, and may be purchased at our front desk. Ask about Season Pass benefits.

Great skiing, mid-winter conditions with new snow last week. Most everything is open and well covered. Still working on improving the Black and Double Black Diamond trails in Frisco and opening sections of the Beaver Meadow in Breckenridge.

Double set tracks for Classic technique and cordoroy Skate lanes for Freestyle technique. Scenic Nature Trails for snowshoeing by self-guided or by guided tour avaialble. Ski Tours in Frisco on weekends and other days by appointment.

We are open and skiing at Breckenridge Nordic Center at 1200 Ski Hill Road, Breckenridge, CO 80424. We have 2Km, skiing with skate lanes and classic tracks on the lower trail system and 4Km groomed skiing, plus endless snowshoe terrain open on the upper trail system on Peak 7 off of Ski Hill Road, by the Forest Service green gate.

Well it did snow yesterday about 3 + inches and some snow fell last night, and we did groom at Breckenridge Nordic. If a little more snow comes our way then we will continue to groom and might have skiing this week, at least on the teaching and training loops.

Hello Skiers! We have had an amazing fall with wonderful warm days in September and blizzard conditions in October. Now it is November and the days are wonderful.

We groomed the easy and intermediate trails around the Breckenridge Nordic Center two weeks ago and enjoyed a week of good ski training. Right now we are conducting volunteer work days at the Frisco Nordic Center.

We are setting up for the Annual Nordic Ski Swap to benefit the Summit Nordic Ski Team. The Swap check-ins are Wed the 11th and Thurs the 12th from 3 - 6 pm, and all day on Friday and Sat. The Swap opens Friday, Novemeber 13th at 12 noon until 6 pm, and runs all day 9 am - 4 pm on Sat and Sunday.

All unsold items from check-ins and our rental and demo fleet get moved to Frisco for the following weekend. The weekend before Thanksgiving we will hold the Annual Ski Swap at the Peninsula Recreation Area - Frisco Nordic Center.

Great snow conditions turning from winter last week with more than 20 inches of light powder to springtime sunny weather with clear warm days. Everything is 100% open at Breckenridge Nordic on Ski Hill Road with plans to stay open until April 19th, and 75% open at Frisco Nordic Center on the Peninsula of Lake Dillon through April 12, Easter Sunday.

As our 3 year old son Joshua once said "It's a real lizard out there." 5 inches of new snow since Thursday afternoon. Still snowing and blowing. Just what we have prayed for all fall...a dream come true. This just might be the whitest Christmas we have ever seen.

Frisco Nordic is 100% open with good conditions on all trails...packed for skating and tracked for classic skiing. Full services 9 -4 pm daily with Two Below Zero sleigh rides nightly with advanced reservations.

Breckenridge Nordic is 85% open. All trails on the lower trail system are packed for skating and tracked for classic skiing, Peak 7 is packed for skating. We are working daily to open the Beaver Meadow wetland trail and The Colorado (link between the meadow and the upper trail system) to Gluteous Min and Max. The destination huts are open for lunch and rest stops.

Breckenridge Nordic is 85% OPEN (since 11/16 with great ski conditions), we are working on foot packing the sensitive Cucumber Gulch area on our trail Beaver Meadows. Happy Thanksgiving! The weather has been beautiful with clear skis and warm temperatures until this week. A few snow flurries up high on the mountain show the promise of snow for the cross country ski and snowshoe trails.

We have begun the snowmaking process at Frisco Nordic. With a little additional fresh snow we might have a teaching area open for the weekend, but not before Sat. The sledding hill is closed. The ski swap is still open at Frisco Nordic by appointment. Call 970-668-0866.

Breckenridge Nordic was open for a week last week with skiing on the 1.3Km teaching and training loop. We still have a good base in some areas, but the skiing and snowshoeing on Peaks 6 & 7 are better...take your rock skis, no grooming has been done one up there yet, but the huts are open for hiking and day trips. We continue to move snow and prepare the base, so that we can open with minimal snow.

We will begin snowshoe tours with 4-5 inches of snow in Breckenridge. Snowshoes are available for rent by advanced reservation. Call Breckenridge Nordic at 970-453-6855. Frisco Nordic will also be offering snowshoe tours this winter.

It is noon and the temperatures are high, but the clouds are building and a friend of mine says her bones ache. Not so good for her, but maybe this is a good sign of a coming snowstorm.

We still working the trails and moving snow in preparation for the next good snowstorm, so we will be ready to open and set tracks. For now the teaching area at Breck Nordic is open, but it is only good for drill training, but not for trail skiing.

There are some trails open up high on the Breck Nordic USDA, FS permit (Peaks 6 & 7) in Breckenridge for snowshoeing. The two destination huts are open for your use. We are renting snowshoes by advanced reservation, but not skis at this time. Call 970-453-6855.

The snowmaking begins in Frisco this week in anticipation of a Thanksgiving weekend opening, but the nightime temps have not been low enough to begin blowing snow.

Blue skis today with zero degree temp. at 8:30 am.

If you come to the Ski Swap at the Breckenridge Nordic Center and pick up some low priced "rock" skis, then you could be skiing today on our teaching area. We are rolling trails in preparation for the next good snowstorm, so we will be ready to open and set tracks. For now it is good for drill training, but not for trail skiing.

Snow is in the air. This has been an excellent start to the season. We will update this blog once we have trails open at Breck and Frisco Nordic.

The new Piston Bully 100 arrived last week. We named it "Lucas" after our grandson. The grooming will be exceptional with this new generation machine...designed specifically for Nordic trails.

Hello skiers! It is true that it has been snowing over the past few days. Colder temps and good weather for snowmaking as well. All of the ski runs are covered in Breckenridge, but the ground beneath us is not frozen yet. This precipitation is excellent for getting the ground nice and wet making freezing a possibility, so that upon the next snowfalls we will certainly start packing to ready for groomed and tracked ski trails.

Still better to try hiking than snowshoeing at this time. We will begin snowshoe tours before Thanksgiving on the Peaks 6 & 7 trails in Breckenridge.

For October we are very pleased with the early snowfall and wet conditions. We hope to see you all soon.

The Annual Nordic Ski Swap begins at Breckenridge Nordic 1200 Ski Hill Road on Nov. 14th - 16th, then it moves to Frisco Nordic 18454 Colorado Hwy 9 on the 21st - 23rd, 2008.

Breckenridge Nordic - Open 20Km

20Km open (65%), it is 6 degrees and the sky is clearing this early am on Sunday. We heard that another storm was headed our way, but had no idea the snow would fall so fast that it was difficult to keep up with trail maintenance. We have been grooming through each storm and found ourselves in a total white out...a skier’s paradise! We are still getting after those advanced trails most of them are open now with skate lanes and we hope we will have set tracks by mid-week. Let us know how you are enjoying this blogspot site. Frisco Nordic - Open 32Km

32Km open (90%),we received more snow overnight than we could shovel, we had folks trying to drive on the groomed trails because they were in a white out, everyone has a smile on their face and the skiers, both young and older seem very happy that the season has begun. The NRL races went well yesterday. The classic race events are still open for registration today between 9-11 am for juniors, seniors and masters racers on RJ's and Crown Point Road Trail. If you are not a competitor...you can be a spectator from several vantage points. Save the date: Jan 13, 2008 for the Keep Winter White "Tour the Summit" event from Breckenridge to Frisco. Ski or snowshoe from food and drink stops along the way with a deck party at the finish area at the Frisco Nordic sundeck. Call us for more information 970-668-0866.
